Understanding the Interface

A comprehensive overview of Gately's workspace, toolbars, and canvas areas.

The Main Canvas

The infinite canvas is where your logic circuits come to life. Gately uses a seamless zoom-and-pan engine to ensure you never run out of space.

Panning: Click and hold the Spacebar while dragging the mouse.
Zooming: Use your mouse wheel or trackpad to organically zoom into dense micro-circuits.

The Toolbox

Located continuously on the left side of the screen, the Toolbox contains every logical component available in our engine:

Inputs: Toggle switches, Push Buttons, and Clock pulse generators.
Logic Gates: The fundamental Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT, XOR).
Outputs: LED indicators, Buzzers, and Hex Displays.

The header provides critical project controls:

Simulation Play/Pause: Freeze your circuit state in time to debug race conditions.
Clear Canvas: Wipes everything clean to start fresh.
Theme Toggle: Instantly swap between dark mode and light mode, natively synchronized to your system preferences.
